MiTM Members - Energy Brokers Abusing Trust

By Control Energy Costs
schedule10th Feb 17

In the last week or so I've had conversations with 3 MiTM members about how energy brokers have essentially abused their trust and misrepresented energy savings whilst building in huge commissions which the end user always pays for.

If you're being urged to sign an energy supply contract via an energy broker and you don't know how much they're earning out of it, the answer is probably a lot more than you think. I've had countless conversations where clients believe the broker is earning a few hundred or a few thousand from the deal when in reality it's been considerably more.

If you're constantly being told now is a good time to go to market, is it really? If you're signing up to 3 year contracts, why? Who's benefit is that really for?

If you're signing a 3 year contract and then 12 months in the broker is coming back looking to re-sign a new contract starting 24 months in advance, whose interests are they looking after?

I've lost count of how many MiTM members along with our wider client portfolio are being 'shafted' by energy brokers.

There is no cost nor any obligation to engage with us, even if you just want a second opinion before committing to something please get in touch. We provide you with a transparent view stripping out brokers commission and misrepresentation of actual costs. I've seen so many brokers tenders which leave off so many of the charging elements they're simply 'hoodwinking' clients into something which isn't right.
