If you're reading this you quite possibly have no idea what an 'Energy Only' electricity contract is or that you might even have one!
During the first two weeks of April I met two businesses who were both on an 'Energy Only' contract with all other costs being passed through to them, with their energy broker telling them this was the best option for them.
In short, the broker had effectively mis-represented these costs and as such it gave them the opportunity to build in 4-5p p/kwh on the 'Energy Only' section. Both of these Made In The Midlands are reasonable electricity users with them both paying £30-40,000 more than they need to be per annum.
Whilst both are now clients of ours, there's nothing we can do about the contractual terms and the outrageous levels of commission built in. Very harsh lesson learnt in both cases.
We work with 60+ Made In The Midlands members and I would urge you to have a conversation with us as soon as you can but at very worst before you sign any supply contracts put to you, even if they are claiming to be a 'good deal'.
